Water Services & Distribution

Raw Water Truck Fills

 There are six Raw Water Truck Fills available throughout the County. A biological sample is collected from each site and tested on a weekly basis for coli-forms and e-coli. An annual chemical analysis is collected with results posted at each Truck Fill.

$1.00 per 100 gallons
1 cubic meter    =   220 gallons   =   1000 litres

5 cubic meters   = 1100 gallons   =   5000 litres

10 cubic meters = 2200 gallons   = 10000 litres
 

A credit card is required for all five new truck fills or an account may be set up where the user would have a personal pin number. Spedden Truck Fill requires a key.

Standard Operating Guidelines were developed for the Warspite Treatment Plant as well as the water distribution, sewage system and each Truck Fill Station.
                         

Regional Water Line

Smoky Lake County worked with the Town of Smoky Lake, the Villages of Waskatenau and Vilna as well as Thorhild County to form a Regional Water Line Commission. The regional water line has been constructed to Waskatenau and has been providing water for the Village since October 2009. The water line is proposed to follow the Iron Horse Trail in future years to communities east of Waskatenau.
